it took me a while to notice the other creatures in the painting because the contrast of the thin lines and big marks of color makes them fade into the background. I really like this piece because of the way Joan Miro integrates geometric and organic shapes as well as thick and thin lines. I think that it is interesting because it appeals aesthetically in a simple way with the curving, cartoonish lines, organic shapes, and colors, but then it also engages the viewer when you take a closer look to realize the different layers of the piece and the more formal structural elements and shapes. -Catie Straut
